With professional certifications from the Canadian Avalanche Association and the Canadian Ski Guide Association, Kyle is one of Australia’s most qualified and experienced ski guides. A true backcountry expert, he knows how to find the best snow, read the terrain, and create unforgettable days in the mountains.

Kyle brings a mix of deep knowledge, calm leadership, and a sense of fun to every tour or course. Whether you're brand new to the backcountry or a seasoned skier ready for more challenging objectives, he’ll tailor the experience to suit your goals and comfort level.

The uptrack guides progression from BEGINNER to advanced levels.

BEGINNER

  1. AST 1 (Avalanche Skills Training Level 1)

    • Learn basic avalanche safety and rescue skills, this is a great way to start your backcountry journey.

  2. Alpine Navigation

    • Learn how to navigate in alpine environments with a map/compass and GPS.

  3. Intro Tours

    • Learn how to skin uphill effectively and build on the skills that you learned from the AST 1.

INTERMEDIATE

  1. AST 2 (Avalanche Skills Training Level 2)

    • Gain more advanced techniques and build from the AST 1.

  2. Ski Mountaineering Level 1

    • Learn technical ski mountaineering skills.

  3. Intermediate Tours

    • Apply advanced avalanche and navigation skills in more challenging tours.

Alpine backcountry Wilderness First Aid

  • We strongly believe that having first aid knowledge is essential in the backcountry. This course will prepare you to handle emergencies in remote areas, boosting your confidence for safe travel.

ADVANCED

  1. Glacier Travel Level 1

    • Learn safe travel on glaciers and crevasse rescue.

  2. Snow Camping

    • Develop winter camping skills.

  3. Advanced Tours

    • Go to the steepest lines and hardest climbs Australia has to offer.
